Orthopaedics

The division of Orthopaedic Surgery at St Mary’s Hospital (SMH) is an integral part of McGill’s Department of Surgery.  St Mary's Orthopaedics includes nine surgeons with various subspecialty interests actively involved in clinical research and the teaching of McGill's medical students and orthopaedic residents.

Assessing the Efficacy of Osteoporosis Medication Prescriptions for Fragility Fractures at a Tertiary Hospital

Feasibility test of a home-based virtual reality (VR) program to help reduce depression in older adults with Alzheimer’s dementia. Over four weeks, participants use VR headsets for immersive nature experiences, with outcomes compared to standard video viewing. The study explores the intervention’s impact on mood, stress, and well-being, aiming to support aging in place through accessible, non-drug mental health solutions.
