Welcome to St. Mary’s Research Centre (SMRC)! Located in the heart of Côte-des-Neiges and part of St. Mary’s Hospital Centre, we are deeply rooted in one of Montreal’s most diverse communities. We’re also proud to stand behind the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA). By doing so, we’re committing to better, fairer ways to evaluate research using both qualitative and quantitative measures, not just journal metrics.

Since becoming Scientific Director in 2020, I’ve watched our centre grow into a hub of innovation and collaboration. Our progress wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation. Their partnership has been instrumental in helping us reach new heights of academic achievement and have access to better resources.
